:: the best pencil eye liner ::

Have you heard or seen this comic called Archie?

Archie Comics is an American comic book publisher founded way back in 1939 and famous for its many series featuring teenage characters named Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge and their friends. Many different series have been published since then and today, MAC Cosmetics have selected Archie and the girls as their latest limited edition collection theme. Me and my girlfriend, Nor could not resist to view the collection so we went to Mid Valley last week to at least catch a glimpse of the Archie's Girls. As usual, MAC built up an exhibition display at the Centre Court and we were approached by a nice guy named Apple Halique who assisted us. Thank you!

Basically the collection is inspired from personalities of Archie's Girls; Betty and Veronica. Betty is the one with blonde hair, sweet, girl-next-door type whereas Veronica is the seductive, sophisticated girl with dark hair and bold, red lips. Colours of the makeup items (eye shadows, pigments, face powder, blusher, lipstick, lip glass, nail lacquer, mascara)  resolved between the two characters so a customer can just decides whether to be a Betty or a Veronica. At first I was interested with Veronica's red lipstick in Ronnie Red but I was not confident enough to wear a bright lippie. Instead, I ended up buying the Archie's Girls Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner in Black Swan, which is black (of course) and slightly glittery.

The limited edition Archie's Girls packaging and a tin box of heart candies as freebie

Eye liner is my must have makeup item after lip balm, yet I have not find one that can makes me stay loyal. So far I have tried a number of pencil eye liner from different brands, as well as gel and kohl eye liners but they have not reach the 5 out of 5 level because my personal preferences would be:
1. Pencil type
2. Dark black
3. Non smudge
4. Smooth
5. Easily glides

The closest to perfect that I am wearing so far is from Topshop but it easily smudge and often leaves additional line underneath my eyes. There were several 'that horrid moment when you look at yourself inside the mirror and realised you just talked to a group of people with smudged eyes'. Hah, so embarassing. Despite being impulsive, I tried my luck with the Pearlglide eye liner and I must say that the purchase was nothing to regret about. I do not know where to begin but I actually do not need to write a long review about it because I can straight away jump into conclusion by saying that MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner is the best pencil eye liner I have tried so far for having all five (5) criterias as mentioned above. It is easy to apply, easy to control, rich in colour (with bits of glitters) and best of all, it is flexible because can be smudged after application but becomes waterproof after it is set for few seconds.

This is a photo I took after wearing it for the first time and honestly, the eye liner still remained there until end of the day and only gone with makeup remover or cleansing oil. Perfect for a humid country like Malaysia!

Finally, I can be loyal to one eye liner.

Archie's Girls Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner also came in Lord It Up (brown), Petrol Blue and Designer Purple for RM72. The eye liner is also available at the counter in standard range.
