:: live clean and happy with method ::

Living with cats is fun and exciting, yet annoying at certain times. We have 5 cats; 4 of them are siblings while another 1 was rescued by hubby from neighbour's drain. Believe me, cats are just like human beings. They have individual personality and that contributes to the fun and exciting part because they can make you laugh and in awe with their behaviours. However, the annoying part comes when I am rushing in the morning, fully dress to work and one comes brushing his/her fur all around my black pants. Another part is when returning home from work and 'welcomed' by pools of cats' puke on the floor. Honestly, I have cleaned up more cats' puke than my own son's but that is just part and parcel of having pets at home.

Few weeks ago I found cleaning products that are animal friendly and most importantly, safe for use around pets. They are specially formulated to put the hurt on dirt without harming our furry babies.

They are called method

Love at first sight: I'm so into their modern and sleek packaging

Armed with its distinctive packaging shape, effective non-toxic plant-based formulation, vibrant fragrances and sustainability practices, method is the real deal!

Highlights:
  • No animal testing - method performs absolutely no animal testing on any of their products and does not endorse, request or commission any animal testing on their behalf
  • No animal by-products - instead of using animal by-products, they use innovations like renewable plant-based stuff tha tare 100% gross-stuff-free
  • Cruelty free company - in 2006, PETA named their co-founders Adam Lowry & Eric Ryan as their 'People of the Year' and recognized method with Proggy (progressive business) Award

As an animal lover, these facts are in line with my personal believe and value. Animals should not be harmed because nowadays there are other available alternatives in testing and developing a products.

method squirt + mop wood floor cleaner

This is the cleaner that has been making my life easier these days. I have been using it for two (2) purposes; regular floor mopping as well as spot cleaning.

With 5 cats running all around the house everyday, paw prints are often visible on the floor especially in the kitchen as the wood is darker in colour. Just like its name, I only need to squirt few splashes of liquid on the floor and start mopping using a damp mop to keep the area clean. No need to dilute liquid with water and no rinsing required, hence saves a lot of time!

Personally I prefer to mop the entire area twice. First with the product, while second time only with damp mop and I found the result is excellent as the floor will look flawless and 'silky smooth'. The best of all is the soothing almond scent. I could not describe how the exact smell is but it's totally different from normal cleaners out there which usually have fruity or chemical smells. Totally addictive. I was impressed to know that the sleek design bottle is made of 100% recycled plastic. Yeay to the spirit of saving our mother earth.

Every mid week or weekend our 5 furry friends have their 'makan besar' of wet food. Just like kids they usually leave leftovers and stains on the floor. With the squirt + mop, I no longer need to frown at the mess because with one squirt and a damp cloth the area is clean, smooth and smells good.

Not only that, I also use squirt + mop after cooking to clean up oil stains on the kitchen floor... and also cleaning all the yucky cats' puke  x _ x

method limited edition designed for good hand wash gel

After every cleaning up, it is important to keep myself hygienic so as such, I will use either one of these lovely method limited edition hand wash gel.

method believe in design as a force for good, which is precisely the inspiration behind their 'designed for good' hand wash. The naturally derived, biodegradable formula comes in 2 unique, nature-inspired fragrances that remain constant while evolving original designs tell a series of though-provoking stories. 'Designed for good' is a platform that allows method to partner with design stars, charities and others who share their commitment to caring for people and the planet.

Mimosa Sun to me smells like tangerine and reminds me of hot summer days, meanwhile Botanical Garden smells like a garden full of lilies. Both leave hands clean and smell so fresh.

method Malaysia is currently running a contest for pet owners on their Facebook page.
If you're also a pet owner like me, go check out method Malaysia FB page today as the contest runs until 6 March 2015.

:: whuzzup with ady rifqi ::

It has been 5 months after our little hero celebrated his second birthday. Haven't shared anything about him ever since but although I still call him 'baby' most of the time, our Ady Rifqi is now a toddler who is busy exploring things around him.

I wish time could move slower so he won't grow up too fast. I want to spend more time with him while he is very dependent of me because sooner or later he will become more independent, prefers his own space and going to spend more time with his friends rather than his old mama.
...and I'm so gonna miss this moment forever :-(

Although people usually refer two-years old kids as 'terrible two', I may not totally agree with that. In my opinion it is a lot more easier to handle a two years old Ady than the younger version of him because he can now understand and convey what he wants. Within the past five months his development is tremendous and the most significant of all is his ability to talk.

Ady may not be fluent enough talking and he is still babbling in his own language, but knowing what he needs is good enough. Among his favourite lines are "nak milk" (want milk), "nak air/eat" (want water/eat), "nak balik umah" (want to go back), "nak main train" (want to play train), "jom main" (let's play) and he also likes saying "eeeeeiii" when he saw gross or nasty things. Although he is still building his vocabulary to talk, he understands some instructions and even what people are talking either in malay or english. He can also now tell us when he is uncomfortable with his diaper or just had a poopoo - helpful info indeed.

Ady surprised me with few of his behaviours and one of them is being pro-active at throwing rubbish into the trash bin. Whenever he sees empty wrapper or anything identified as trash he will pick up and throw it without being asked. He also likes to help cleaning after our cats finish eating their wet food. If he sees the empty plates he will stack and put them on the kitchen counter next to the sink and throws the newspaper into the bin. When he did that for the first time I was really surprised because we never taught him the process. His actions reflected how kids can learn only through observation and therefore as parents, we should be more careful at what we are doing.

In addition to that, Ady is a concern fella. If he heard either of us saying we are in pain he will go into our room, open the drawer, take out bottle of aloe vera gel, bring it to us and even apply the gel with his fingers on our pain area. We always use the aloe vera gel on him if he got bitten by ants or mosquito, which he refers as pain so he replicates that. Again, the power of observation.

Growing up with five cats made our little gem a cat lover too. Among the five, his closest furry friend is Neslo. Neslo is a male cat and the biggest among the five. He is the 'house cat' type. He sleeps with us almost every night and even love squeezing himself in between us when ever we sit on the couch watching tv (he is now sleeping next to me while I'm typing this). Almost every day Ady grabs Neslo and kisses him with a "mmmuaaahhh". He even hug / cuddle the cat, sit on top of him, pinch his face and sometimes pull his tail but Neslo must have love Ady too because he either sit still or run away. Ady never had a single scratch from Neslo.

He still plays with the other four, but the cats sometimes run away from him. One of them, named MiuMiu used to give Ady a lot of scratches until he cried but Ady never stop wanting to play with him. He is always excited when he sees cats anywhere we went to. Actually Ady is not only fond of cats but other animals too. We even had to accompany him to pet shops because he always want to stop and watch the fish, cats, dogs, hamsters and birds. Will definitely bring him to the national zoo one day.

Alhamdulillah since 1 to 2 months back Ady can already count 1 until 10 in english by his own. He still couldn't recite A to Z without guidance but he knows the sequence and able to recite the alphabets together with us or with the song. The positive side of being a YouTube addict made him able to sing and understand few nursery rhymes and also increase his vocabs especially on transportation, because he just love them! Even most of his toys consists of cars, trains, busses, airplanes, trucks and others.

I couldn't wait to see whether Ady would follow my footsteps in the area of art, so when he requested to have a set of colour pencils I got all excited. Bought him a colouring book but I ended up colouring some of the pictures because the little boy only knows how to scribble. Or else he just requested me to draw something and most frequent one is to draw him a bus.

Since Ady is still unable to control his hand with the colour pencils I somehow got an idea to utilise them in a different way. On a printed out sheet with colourful circles, I taught him on colours and put a matching colour pencil to each of the circle. After two days Ady managed to do it by his own and the result is on the picture above.

In order to make him explore his creativity, I have made Ady a homemade play dough out of flour, salt, oil, water and food colouring. It was his first experience playing with dough and guess what, he did not want his hands to be dirty at first. I had to make few shapes and even finger puppets out of the dough before he got interested. That homemade dough didn't last long though and turned yucky on the next day. What a waste. We then bought him a Play Dough instead and he likes playing with it.

Ady is surrounded with people who love him. Not in the picture are his Nenek, Opah, Tok Wan, rest of the aunties, uncles and cousins.

There might be more development progress that I do not share here but on top of all I am glad and happy to see Ady becoming a well behaved boy. He still nags, cries on top of his lung, runs when ever to whereever he wants or says "nanakkkk" (don't want) loudly with a struggle in front of shops he doesn't want to enter, but that is just him being a kid.

We are proud of you, little boy and continue making us proud will ya?

xoxo,
Mama.

:: cat print ::

Yesterday I was wearing this same shawl:

Shawl by Radiusite bought from Maria Elena, the famous blogger during a preloved party

The shawl is fully printed with cat print and one of my colleague who passed by said, "you are wearing cat print, just like Victoria Beckham's dress."

When it comes to the Victoria Beckham who is famous with her fashion sense I immediately googled Victoria Beckham cat print dress and here it is:

Mieouw!

Cat print doesn't see the limelight so much as compared to other animal prints but they are too cute. I'm going to find and have more cat print in my wardrobe to reflect myself as a cat lover... and 29th October (two days ago) is National Cat Day.

I did wish our cats "Happy Cat Day", hope they got the message :-D

Some cool facts about cats:
- Cats sleep 16 hours of any given days.

- Cats have dreams. They start dreaming when they reach a week old (hrmmm...this may explains why they sometimes twitch in sleep)

- Cats make about 100 different sounds. Dogs make only 10.

- Cats spend nearly one-third of their waking hours cleaning themselves (totally agree!)

- Cats can see anything up to 120 feet away and their peripheral vision is roughly 285 degrees.

:: diy noisy cat's toy ::

It has been awhile since my last cat-related update. After KiKi was gone we actually have 4 + 1 cats at home until today; the four siblings and one street cat who used to be KiKi's 'friend'. I have been planning to write about them from day-to-day but still haven't do it. Well maybe on one fine day I will share a story about them because the siblings: Neslo, Nescafe, Milo and Teh Tarik are already fat and huge now if compare to this:

Pics taken in June 2011

The kittens (yeah, we still call them kittens) have their own dedicated room in our house. They stay inside the room but they have their play time everyday when they can roam everywhere inside the house, usually during midnights after Ady and I are already inside our bedroom. As we knew, cats love to play. Thought of buying new toys for the kittens to keep them ocuppied but cats' toys are quite expensive. Found this interesting pillow shape toy made of fabric with noisy plastic inside, priced around RM10++. It was small and expensive to me for something simple as that so I decided to make something similar at home.

1. I sacrificed a small non-woven bag received from a wedding and a plastic that was used to wrap a souvenir bought in USS.

2. The fabric was cut into square.

3. Folded the fabric into two and sew along the edges.

4. Insert the plastic inside through the open side.

5. Sew along the edge to keep the plastic inside and DONE.

It was just like a pillow. A noisy pillow to be exact because the plastic produced noise and that attracts cats. Cheap and easy.

:: still in memory ::

02.05.2011 - 02.11.2011
It has been 6 months since we lost our furry baby, KiKi. Half a year has passed by and at this point I really have to accept the fact that we are not going to see KiKi again. Nothing could stop us from thinking about her. Although we have slowly moved on, there are few things that we still couldn't do like eating fried 'selar' fish, eating instant lasagne, going to kuey tiow shop in ttdi jaya and few other places that we used to go with her. All of these bring strong memory of her and no, we have not passed beyond that yet. Although I don't mind giving our new kittens playing with her scratching post and have her 'pink crib' carrier, there are still things that are still preserved especially her pink fluffy bed and these...

Those are KiKi's tops and they are still hanging at its usual place. The first top that we bought for her is the pink-white stripes shirt with 'queen checkmate' wording and it's hubby's favourite. My favourite piece is the pink polka dot dress though because KiKi looked so girlish in it. I always tell Ady about the cat we used to have. The cat who accompanied his Mama most of the time when he was still in my tummy.

I wish the three of us will meet her again...if not in this world, in heaven still do but in the meantime KiKi will always be remembered. I miss you, KiKi and I wish you are safe and healthy, where ever you are. You have cherished our life and we thank you for every colourful moment you gave us.

:: petknode apologised? ::

This is posted by Petknode Cat Boarding official FB page at 11:31 am today, an apologise note:

Apologising is good but regretting over not having enough workforce to handle the cats due to money and limited resources? Well you shouldn't mention that mister because that just brings more anger to people. You offered boarding service with wide advertisement on the Internet, accepted people's money and yet, you blamed limited money and resources. It really shows how selfish these people are. Oh by the way the two selfish guys were detained in lockup...

...with laptop! The above note must be sent from that cell too.

:: cruelty by petknode ::

On Hari Raya last year the entire nation was shocked about the gruesome death of Sosilawati. This year, we are shocked (again) but this time it is about animal cruelty by a pet boarding centre known as Petknode. For cat owners, preparation for Hari Raya not only involve shopping for new clothes but also include planning and searching for the best place to leave their furkids. Those who couldn't bring along their cats normally leave them at petshops or boarding centres. They trust them, pay a sum of money, celebrate Hari Raya with family, return to KL and find their beloved cats look like this:

...this...

...with dead kittens...

...and the most tragic among all...

when the mother and its kitten are both dead :-(

Insane! That was the word I uttered when I saw the pictures. Such cruelty was made by people who were paid and trusted to take care of the animals, but look what they have done. Those cats and many more were leftcongested inside a room in their cages, some in carriers without enough food, water and sit with their poops and pees.

I'm angry but so sleepy right now to share the complete news but you can read what's going on from myanimalcare website and get latest update from Kucing Terbiar & Anjing Jalanan FB page.

RIP to 16 dead cats and get well soon for the survivors. To those greedy, irresponsible Petknode bastards - "go rot in hell!"

Good night.

:: a celebration that will never be celebrated ::

On this date last year hubby brought home a box with an injured cat inside. I was having a nap on the couch when hubby came home that night with her. She was an ordinary cat with black stripes on grey and white fur; and she was still small. My heart straight away melted when I looked at her. She has a cute face and moreover I was feeling sorry for the injury. Her left back foot was broken so she had to rely on her other 3 feet to walk. Hubby brought her home because he wanted to send her to the vet on the next day and somehow I said to him, "just bring her back home again tomorrow."

KiKi's second day at home

That was it. On this date last year we had our first pet whom we named KiKi. We didn't want her to stay outside. We bathed her on the next day so she could stay inside and from that moment she became a house cat. KiKi cherished our life. She was smart because although she was living in the street earlier she never wrecked the house and even knew where her toilet was so she just signalled us when she wanted to do her thing. Days passed by. It was Hari Raya and because we didn't have any experience with boarding service, we brought KiKi celebrating Raya with us in Seremban and also to Sik, Kedah. Amazingly she just sat quietly inside the carrier and behaved really well through out the entire journey, neither peed nor pooed.

Our Raya pic last year :-(

We never separated with each other ever since day one but we had to leave her when we went to Melbourne. It was our first time being away and I even cried when we said goodbye to her. I never feel such strong bond with a cat before but everything changed with KiKi.

Nose to nose - that was what we did to say I love you

My most favourite pic!

From a box house we then bought her a proper cage. At first, KiKi was left inside the cage during the day when we were both at work but later we just left her inside our bedroom because we wanted her to be more comfortable. After 6 months we just left her roaming anywhere in the house because we knew she won't do anything. KiKi was special to us and I have to admit that we usually treat her more than a cat. We couldn't leave her alone for too long if it was already dark, we brought her to shopping malls, bought her clothes and at one point, we even installed a webcam to watch what she did in the bedroom during the day! We then knew how much she loved her pink fluffy bed because she only sat and slept inside it most of the time. Later in the evening she sat at the window pane, looking outside as if she knew I will reach home anytime soon.

I miss these moments...

There is a lot to talk about KiKi. She accompanied me most of the time until I was 8 month pregnant and I that was when she was taken away from us. I regret that she couldn't meet Ady. Even more, it was hard to believe that KiKi was stolen just like that. She was with us the whole time, only separated in few minutes and gone. It was tragic. No word could describe how devastated I am until this moment. It has been 3 months but I still can't let her go. I keep thinking of her and missing her, hoping that she is thinking and missing us too. Hopefully she is doing well and healthy, whereever she is right now. We should have a celebration today but too bad KiKi is no longer with us. No matter what, she will always be our first pet and our moments with her will always be kept as treasure.

 KiKi had a lot of her favourite food (chicken) during her last week with us

I really miss you KiKi.

:: freestyler(s) ::

I love watching my baby sleeps because he looks so cute and adorable in every different sleeping position. My BFF, Fila commented about him being a freestyler because he could sleep even in odd position.

This is Ady sleeping on my lap today, one in the afternoon...

...and another in the evening.
In fact he is still sleeping like this while I'm typing this now.

Freestyler?

:: a month without kiki ::

I have been longing to write this post. From a week, then postponed to 2 weeks, then to 3 weeks they were all halfway written. It has been more than a month now and as I'm getting stronger I decided to finish up and publish this entry.

On the second day of May we lost our beloved cat, KiKi. A month passed by with sadness and not a day passed without me not thinking of her in tears. Until today there is still no news on her whereabout. A part of me has started losing hope but another part of me still continues praying for miracle to happen. We have tried our best with putting posters everywhere, placing advertisements and searching keywords on Internet, calling pet shops and even visited SPCA in Ampang and PAWS in Subang. In fact, hubby visited PAWS every week in case KiKi was found anywhere and taken to the shelter but until today every effort is dead end.

Our home feels so empty without our lil sweetheart. I'm badly 'hit' because she was always with me from the moment I opened my eyes in the morning until I closed my eyes at night. KiKi used to sleep with us. She has her own fluffy pink bed and when I was lazy to wake up for work I used to place my hand at her and she will lick it to freshen me up. At night I used to call her to accompany me and while I was surfing the Net, she used to play and then curled inside her bed sleeping next to me. The night before she was taken away, I remember her "calling" both of us to accompany her sleep inside the room. She even waited outside the door, came to me and mieouwed because I was slow. I really miss those moments, in fact I miss every moment we had together because she really cherished our life.

The first two weeks were the hardest of all. We both lost our appetite and being at home or outside didn't feel right at all. Until today we still couldn't eat some of the food we used to eat with her and still couldn't visit some of the places we frequently went with her. Although KiKi has only lived with us for 8 months, her lost impact our life tremendously and I personally feel it is too early to let her go.

I always wish this is just a nightmare. I keep on wondering where KiKi is right now and whether she still remember both of us. Hopefully she is in great condition, healthy, happy and I wish she knows how much we miss her. Yes, I do believe in fate but sometimes I still couldn't help feeling guilty for leaving her because if not, she might still be with us today. It really broke my heart a lot listening to hubby's voice saying "Yang, ada orang ambik KiKi" (honey, someone took KiKi) and that voice tone keeps playing in my head until today. I couldn't describe how devastated I am and how desperate I am to have my KiKi back. Like I always told her before, she is a special cat; the cutest cat with big eyes, pink nose and small mouth. I wish I could bump my nose to hers again, cuddle her in my arm, watch her sleep and have her sitting on my lap while travelling, just like before.

KiKi, mama and papa miss you tremendously and we both love you so much. Thank you for everything. You will always be our cat and you will always be remembered.

:: hello kittens! ::

Say hello to these 4 lil' cuties...

These kittens have been staying at our house since last Friday. They belong to KoKo, a cat at my hubby's shop. KoKo first came to the shop almost the same time as KiKi and although she is in different colour we still think both of them might be siblings because of some similar features. KoKo can be considered as modernopc's cat because she will come to the shop everyday to have her meals or napping during the day. She gave birth to two kittens last December but one day they were adopted by someone when they were left inside their box house in front of the shop. KoKo is a very protective mother who loves her kittens very much. She was lost and depressed for 2 weeks because her babies were missing but luckily she was pregnant again soon after.

"Hi, I'm KoKo"

When she gave birth to these four babies few weeks ago they were left at somewhere else until one day last week she came to hubby's shop with all her kittens. Afraid that someone will took the kittens away if they were left in front of the shop at night, hubby brought home the whole family together for an overnight and brought them back to the shop on the next day. Hubby then trust the family and left them sleeping inside the shop at night, but it went on for only two nights because last Friday's afternoon KoKo went out for her usual walk and didn't return to the shop like she always did. Since her babies still rely on their mother and already cried for milk, they couldn't be left just like that so that evening, hubby brought them home.

 "aren't they cute???"

We never handled a kitten before but we felt so sorry for the babies especially when they were hungry. They were used to drink milk directly from their mom so they didn't know how to drink from feeding bottle and plate. Luckily we still got KiKi's medicine syringe and managed to make them drink with the syringe. Kittens are very cute indeed and they are just like other babies. One thing for sure, just let them sleep peacefully because once a kitten is awake, the other 3 will awake too and started "crying" endlessly.

It has been 3 nights. Until I'm typing this, KoKo has not yet returned and we have started to worry because she was not very healthy for 2 days until the day she left the shop. As I said earlier, KoKo is a very protective mom. It's impossible for her to ignore the babies just like that so hopefully nothing bad happened to her. Please pray together with us for her to return..... KoKo, your babies need you. Please come back ye :-(

p/s: I miss KiKi.

:: kiki saya hilang dicuri :-( ::

Weekend lepas kami balik Seremban, so KiKi terpaksa tinggal semalaman di rumah. Kami balik hari Ahad lewat petang terus ambil dia pergi rumah mertua. Kesian KiKi dah tinggal sorang so kami memang dah plan nak bawa dia jalan-jalan macam biasa esoknya sebab public holiday. Hari Isnin tu panas, tengahari pulak tu... kesian dia kepanasan. Tapi sebab dah panas, first time haritu dia dapat port baru duduk atas handbrake. Duduk je baik-baik sampaila kami tiba Mid Valley.

First time KiKi duduk atas handbrake ni...

Lepas habis jalan-jalan Mid Valley sampai penat kami pun balik, time tu dah senja. Keluar parking, tengok-tengok hujan yang sangat lebat. Kalau sampai rumah pun susah nak keluar kereta dan masuk rumah sebab terlalu lebat, so saya ajak hubby singgah Sunway Pyramid dulu.

On the way tu KiKi memang behave macam selalu sebab dah sejuk. Saya ambil dia duduk atas riba saya. Diam je dia duduk melekat kat saya sambil mata nak terlelap.

Masa on the way tu kami dapat tukar troli yang elok sikit. Sampai depan Daiso memang nampak ramai orang.

Bila saya tanya description orang tu, minah and mamat cashier kata "lelaki melayu pakai baju kelabu". Marah memang marah, tapi saya terus tanya ke mana dia lari dan dia tunjukkan. Hubby memang dah lari sebelum tu lagi dan saya pun terus berlari jugak mencari kat serata tempat sambil sebut "KiKi... KiKi....".

Mungkin dah terlalu lambat sebab pastinya pencuri tu dah lama pergi bawa kucing kesayangan kami.

Hibanya hati ni memang tak terkata. Apatah lagi bila masuk rumah tengok semua barang-barang KiKi macam biasa. Makanan kat depan, tempat tidur pink dia atas katil, mainan kat sana-sini....ya Allah hancurnya hati saya memang tak dapat nak terangkan. Manager Daisor kata ambil masa 2 hari. Sunway minta kami buat report polis dulu so kami pun pergi buat, tapi orang yang jaga cctv meeting pula suruh kami datang esok nya lagi pukul 5 petang.

Kelmarin, hari Rabu kami pergi dan berjaya tengok cctv tu. Lemah semangat saya tengok video tu sebenarnya.

Kejam!

Rumah kami terasa sangat kosong tanpa KiKi. Selama ini KiKi memang peneman setia saya. Bila saya bangun pagi dia pun bangun, bila saya nak tidur memang selalunya dia di sisi, bila ke dapur dia akan duduk dan tengok apa saya buat / masak dan walaupun dia leka duduk di pintu tengok pemandangan luar tapi kalau saya bangun ke dapur walau tanpa bunyi pun...dia akan tiba-tiba bangun dan terus ikut saya... begitulah kuatnya bonding kami dan bayangkanlah macamana perasaan saya sekarang bila semua tu dah takde lagi.......

.........sepi.......

Seperti yang saya selalu cakap padanya, KiKi kucing istimewa. Dia memang pandai.

I love you so much!

:: the one about i-city ::

I have a lot to share and tell but I was either too tired or too occupied with something else to blog (most of the time I was too tired though). My unit just took over a big task from another unit and the handover was last Tuesday. Ever since that, I've been busy studying, trying to simplify any possible procedure to make things much easier. The thing is, I can only do the thinking part after office hour because there were too many requests to be entertained during office hour. So in the end I have to stayback until 8 something every night and reached home just to lie my head on the pillow before a new day starts.

I have been reading and listening to people's experiences on their visits to I-City Shah Alam since ages ago. Despite that, I still knew nothing about that place except it has lots of lights and also famous female ghost (just google 'hantu i-city' and you'll know what I meant). After living in the dark for the Earth Hour celebration two weekends ago I made my way to the I-City with my dear cat to visit hubby who was handling an ICT Carnival booth there. Seriously, if not because of that I'm not sure whether I'll be visiting that place after all. I just followed signboards available on the federal highway and when we reached, a number of cars were already queueing to enter since it was Saturday night. Parking fee is inclusive of entrance fee and it was RM10 per car. The car in front of ours had 7 people congested inside and I considered that as managing cost effectively... hehe.

Bee had to pick us up at the elevated parking building because I didn't know where to go. There were so many people that night and I was surprised to see the area had many shoplots and buildings because I previously thought it was just a huge open space. The ICT Carnival was even held in a covered area so we lepak at modernopc booth for a while before made our way to see the lights. The whole place had somekind of festival-like ambience. Besides crowd of visitors, there were reptiles show where we were allowed to take photos with a gigantic yellow snake (ular sawa) and other creatures, apart from donkey riding, glow in the dark show and booths selling lights and glow in the dark stuff.

We reached the lights area and from what was seen, most people were just strolling around, taking photos. There were lights in the shape of trees, animals and many others which I couldn't be bothered much. What I had in my head was "how much do they pay for electricity in a month?". I felt inappropriate to be there because I just didn't know how to appreciate those static lights. Yet still, we did take several photos for memory's sake, especially that KiKi was with us too. I think KiKi might be the first cat visiting I-City as a visitor... hehe.

It was kinda hard to take photo because there were too many people so after few snaps we just walked around to the other side. There was this gated area of lights with only few people inside and apparently there was entrance fee of RM2 per person to enter that small area... no wonder it was not congested. Anyhow, we could also convert the RM10 parking ticket to enter for 5 people and luckily I brought along that ticket in my bag so off we went inside. There were nothing much actually, just lights in the shape of cow, giraffe, orange tree and santa with his reindeer. Since there were only few people, it was easier to snap some more photos without being distracted or waiting for turns. We then went back to modernopc booth and just sat there until the carnival ended.
As I said earlier, if not because hubby was working there, we surely would not visit I-City. Yet, it was still worthwhile if you have nothing else to do or wanted to bring family members who came from outside Klang Valley for a visit. It can be a good place for an outing with friends and even a date with your gf or bf because there were so many people around you although it is dark. Most people who came must be those who live around the area too because there was this uncle who came with his family in his sarong or kain pelikat while his wife came in her one piece long night t-shirt. Feels like home, eh?

FAMILY PHOTO ;-)

On our way home that night we stopped by for supper at Aimar Char Kuay Teow in TTDI Jaya with the rest of modernopc team, inclusive my sis in law who was so helpful following his big brother. It was already near 2 am I think and there were only 5 plates of char kuay teow left for us to order. Apparently that restaurant is famous with its char kuay teow and it did taste good. The portion was a bit small though, but I just knew that char kuay teow is meant to be cooked in small portion. Still, there were options for kuay teow besar, kuay teow special and kuay teow besar special; and special means more prawns. We enjoyed our food and even KiKi enjoyed eating the prawns from inside her carrier bag...
I highly recommend the restaurant and we did return for dinner last Thursday night. They also have satay and Thai food so we planned to try their Thai food perhaps in the next visit because according to the menu, a set for 2 which includes rice, siakap or bawal (seabass / pomfret), ayam or daging kunyit (chicken / beef fried with tumeric powder) and tomyam... errr I think there's tomyam in that set only cost RM25, which is considered reasonable. Well, at least we have another place to have dinner instead of the same ol' places like food court SS19. Previously we had gerai tomyam Sunway in the list but we have banned it because quality of food has became poor but the price is getting expensive. To Aimar Char Kuay Teow... please don't let us down ya :-D
